Expand every day. The dilator should be used daily for 5 to 15 minutes. She may have a small amount of spots at first, but the spots should be relieved within two weeks of starting the dilator. The size of each dilator should be 3 to 4 weeks. When your patient changes size, he should transition to a larger size within a few days by first expanding it with a smaller dilator for a few minutes and then changing to a larger dilator for the rest of the time. If she feels pain or massive bleeding, stop expanding and follow you up.
Clean properly. Instruct her to clean the dilator with antibacterial soap and water and dry thoroughly between uses.
